Genco Berk is an Austrian “World Citizen” born in Istanbul and raised in Frankfurt, Germany. During his formative years, he and his parents -an architect and a painter- often traveled to museums across Europe and attended events like Documenta in Germany. This rich exposure to the art world, combined with being raised by two artists, cultivated in him a discerning eye for trends and a deep appreciation for creativity.
He is a second-generation architect and interior designer, as well as an award-winning product
designer, with over 35 years of experience in high-end residential and commercial interiors. At the age of 17, he began assisting his father with interior design projects. He later pursued studies in architecture in Turkey and the United States. Following his graduation, he completed the interior design for the representative office of Dresdner Bank A.G. in Istanbul.
In 1990, he relocated to Vienna, where he continued his architectural career as a freelance architect, focusing on hospitality projects. During this time, he undertook numerous excursions to Florence, Milan, Rome, Verona, Vicenza, Budapest, and Prague, which further enriched his design perspective.
Since 2004, he has continued his profession in Shanghai, where he executes high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects, including award-winning boutique hotel architecture and interior design, all while integrating energy-efficient solutions.
